A night for the history books
Under lights and in front of a record crowd, the Women’s XI produced the performance of a generation to beat the defending champions by eight wickets and lift the National Championship — the first national title in Larkspur’s 60-year history.
How it was won
Chasing a testing total, vice-captain Elena Marsh led from the front with a nerveless unbeaten 78, sharing a match-defining stand with opener Jess Carter. Earlier, seamers freya Lawson and Amara Osei had restricted the champions with disciplined new-ball spells that set the tone for the evening.
What comes next
The champions return to Larkspur Oval next Saturday for a homecoming celebration before the men’s quarter-final — all supporters welcome. Junior girls’ trials for next season open in March, and the club expects its biggest-ever intake on the back of this triumph.
